A Place to Belong – Collaborative Headspace Mural

How we turned a dark and dingy car park into a vibrant space where outdoor events can be held.
Earlier this year I had the pleasure of working with Reece Hendy from Nacho Station, along with several young people associated with Headspace, to create and paint a mural for the Headspace office in Bendigo.

The young people who got involved had the chance to be part of the process from start to finish. From brainstorming to design to projecting the artwork and finally painting.
This was a truly collaborative effort!

The finished mural, though not visible to the general public, is now a focal point for anyone using the Headspace facilities. It can be seen from the office windows, and offers an inviting backdrop for outdoor events held in the space.
As a bonus, the mural offers a welcoming message of belonging – particularly to those who are using the Headspace services for the first time.

A big thanks to Headspace for getting us involved, and to the young people who worked so hard to help this mural come to life. Thank you also to the Hindsight Club for sponsoring the project.
